City of Tolleson Administration and Fire Station receives LEED Gold Certification from the USGBC!

8 Oct. 2011: Lawrence Enyart, FAIA  was  honored and awarded the prestigious AIA WMR Silver Medal at the 2011 AIA design conference and Awards Gala in Las Vegas, NV. The Silver Medal is the highest AIA honor presented by the Region (AZ, CO, NM, NV, UT, and WY) and recognizes an individual Architect who has made significant contributions to the institute, the profession, the citizens of the Western Mountain Region, and their community. Larry has transcended local boundaries in making these contributions.

17 September 2011: Valley Forward  Awards Gala -  Lawrence Enyart, FAIA LEED AP,  of LEA Architects, LLC and the entire LEA Team of architects, contractor, and owner, win the 2011 Environmental Excellence Merit Award for the Glendale Regional Public Safety Training Center (GRPSTC) 77 acre campus

 

The American Institute of Architects Western Mountain Region (AIA WMR) will be presenting  and honoring  Lawrence Enyart, FAIA  with the prestigious AIA WMR Silver Medal, the region’s top AIA award at the AIA design conference and Awards Gala in Las Vegas, NV – 8 Oct. 2011

LEA wins Arizona Masonry Guild Design Excellence Award for Paradise Valley Fire Station No. 1.  Larry Enyart, FAIA was the Design Architect and Lance Enyart, AIA served as designer and  project manager.  Paradise Valley Fire Station No. 1 has won numerous awards including a Valley Forward Design Excellence Award and was a featured presentation tour with the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Arts.

LEA wins Valley Forward Design Award for Environmental Excellence – Glendale Regional Public Safety Training Center (GRPSTC) 77 acre campus. GRPSTC and the team will receive recognition at the annual VF Awards Gala 17 September.

19 May 2011: Larry Enyart, FAIA, LEED AP briefed Congressman Paul Gosar on the new Grand Canyon National Park Airport Terminal followed by the presentation of the LEED Gold plaque for the newly USGBC certified Grand Canyon National Park Airport ARFF and Operations Building. 12 April 2011: LEA Architects is extremely proud to announce that the Grand Canyon National Park Airport ARFF and Operations building has received  ”LEED Gold” certification from the United States Green Building Council (USGBC). Thank you to our clients, ADOT professionals, Coconino County officials, the GCN User Group at the Airport, the contractor FCI, all staff members at LEA, and the engineers and consultants working with us to create this LEED GOLD sustainable building!  The project also received  a Design Excellence Award from F.I.E.R.O. and the IAFC National Design Symposium, and the top Coconino County Sustainable Building Program Award earlier this year. 
Airport Magazine February/March 2011 (pg 24-25): features the LEED Gold Grand Canyon National Park Operations Building and ARFF.  The photos were taken by Lawrence Enyart, FAIA, LEED AP.  LEA Architects is master planning and designing the new Terminal Building, Railway Station, and Monorail Station which also features many sustainable strategies.

18 March 2011: Tolleson Fire Station No. 1 + Administration, a LEED Gold facility was dedicated to the City with hundreds of people attending the Building Dedication Ceremony and luncheon.  Architect Lawrence Enyart, FAIA, LEED AP was a featured speaker and spoke of the numerous sustainable attributes and leadership from the City of Tolleson, Board Members and Fire Department.  Larry Enyart, FAIA, LEED AP, Randy Jones, RA and  Lance Enyart, AIA, LEED AP assisted in the tours and open house.

LEA's newest project is complete for the Spring 2011 semester!  Larry Enyart, FAIA, LEED AP and Lance Enyart, AIA, LEED AP of LEA-Architects along with Carol Johnston, PhD, RD ASU Nutrition Director; Linda Vaughn, PhD, RD, FADA, ASU Assistant Dean of Health Promotion Programs; and Craig Thatcher, DVM, PhD, Diplomate ACVN, ASU Executive Dean dedicate Arizona State University's College of Nursing and Health Innovation Instructional Kitchens + Laboratories. LEA created a fun and inspirational state of the art Kitchen and Foods Lab for students to further develop their understanding of the scientific foundations of nutrition.

29 November 2010: Larry Enyart, FAIA, LEED AP and Lance Enyart, AIA, LEED AP present the Grand Canyon Terminal model to the numerous stakeholders of the Grand Canyon National Park Airport. The Grand Canyon Airport community takes great pride in maintaining a strong sense of design quality, as it relates to both the airport context and the architecture of the new Grand Canyon Airport Operations Building and ARFF Station.  LEA seized the opportunity to enhance and support the aviation community, aiming to provide a Facility that would instill a sense of permanence and pride in the public.

6 November 2010: Coconino County Sustainable Building Program Annual Awards Ceremony, Flagstaff, AZ.  Coconino County's top Advanced Level Plus Sustainable Building Design Excellence Award 2010 is presented to LEA-Architects for the Grand Canyon National Park Airport Operations Building / Air Rescue Fire Fighting Facility and Highland Fire District Mountainaire Fire Station 23. Architect Lawrence Enyart, FAIA, LEED AP accepted the Award Plaque and Certificate for each project and spoke about the numerous sustainable features

2 October 2010: Scottsdale Fire Station No.2 (LEED Platinum) takes home the prestigious 2010 Valley Forward Crescordia in the Civic catagory for Valley Forwards 30th Anniversary Environmental Excellence Awards.

The Crescordia: Since Valley Forward's introduction of the Environmental Excellence Awards program, the coveted Crescordia - a Greek term that means "To Grow in Harmony" - has been given as the highest honor in each category

Scottsdale Fire Station No.2, the 1st Fire Station to receive LEED PLATINUM certification in the United States is to be a recipient of the 2010 Valley Forward Environmental Design Excellence Award that will be presented at the 30th annual VF Awards Gala in October.  This represents the seventh time LEA has been recognized for environmental excellence by Valley Forward over the years.

July 10 2 New July Publications:  Concrete Masonry Designs (National Magazine)  features Paradise Valley Fire Station No. 2 which won a national Concrete and Masonry Design Award this year and ADOT TRANSend features the newly dedicated LEED GOLD Grand Canyon National Airport ARFF and Airport Operations building.

4 July 2010: Highlands Fire Station No. 23 was dedicated with hundreds of people attending the early morning pancake breakfast and Building Dedication Ceremony.  Architect Lawrence Enyart, FAIA, LEED AP was a featured speaker and participated in the “ribbon cutting” fire hose decouple with District Board members.  The building received many compliments and was awarded the top level Advanced Award for Sustainability from Coconino County during the ceremony.  LEA Design Architects Larry Enyart, FAIA, LEED AP, Lance Enyart, AIA, LEED AP, and LEA Senior Project Manager, Randy Jones, RA assisted in the tours and open house.

16 June 2010: Dedication of the new Grand Canyon Airport Operations Building + ARFF.

esign Architect and Principal, Lawrence Enyart, FAIA, LEED AP, spoke on the numerous sustainable features that contributed to the final LEED Gold certification and Officials from the State of Arizona Governor’s Office, ADOT, Mayor of Tusayon, and the FAA, cut the ribbon of this major catalyst LEED Gold building.  Larry, along with LEA senior PM, Randy Jones, RA, and LEA Design Architect, Lance Enyart, AIA, LEED AP provided tours of the new building.   An Airport stakeholder workshop session hosted by ADOT was conducted after the ribbon cutting where Larry and Lance presented the sustainable vision of the new Terminal at the Grand Canyon airport (below)

20 April 2010:

Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (SMoCA) members and guests met with the LEA Architects to tour Paradise Valley Fire Station No. 1.  LEA design Architects Lawrence Enyart, FAIA, LEED AP and Lance Enyart, AIA, LEED AP discussed architectural design concepts, art, function, and sustainable features of both Paradise Valley Fire Stations No. 1 and 2 (recent winners of Valley Forward, NCMA, FIERO and AZ Masonry Guild Awards).  A special thanks to the Fire Fighters and SMoCA director of development Alexandra Moquay who organized the presentation and tour SMOCA and A-Beautiful-New-Building-in-Paradise-Valley blog

Lawrence Enyart, FAIA, LEED AP of LEA Architects presents the top Gold Design Excellence Award won by LEA in a national design excellence competition for the 77 acre Glendale Regional Public Safety Training Center (GRPSTC) to the City of Glendale officials.  Pictured above from left-right: Lance Enyart, AIA (LEA), Glendale Fire Chief Mark Burdick, Randy Jones, RA (LEA), Craig Johnson (COG), Larry Enyart, FAIA (LEA), Larry Broyles (COG), Deputy City Manager Pam Kavanaugh, Deputy Chief Darrell Johnston and Deputy Chief Jim Higgins.

Lawrence Enyart, FAIA, LEED AP co-authors the new book “ Fire Station:  Insight to Planning, Design, and Construction” which will be released this Spring 2010.    Phoenix Sky Harbor Center Fire Station 16, which has won numerous national and regional design excellence and environmental awards is on the cover. Several other  projects including Scottsdale’s LEED Platinum Fire Station 2, GRPSTC and San Luis Obispo ARFF are also featured in the book.   Proceeds from the sale of the book will go to the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) Foundation charities.
